A new project will give young people the chance to have more mental health support, according to Social Enterprise UK.
The Strong Young Minds programme will provide emotional support, help in learning about ways to build mental strength, coping techniques and increased awareness of mental health issues to reduce stigma.
In addition, it will provide help for children and young people to feel less isolated by bringing them into social groups.
NHS England figures have recently revealed that children and young people with serious mental health problems are forced to travel as far as 285 miles to receive mental health support.
The Youth Forum, set up by social enterprise Epic CIC which is based in the London borough of Kensington & Chelsea, inspired the development of the new service.
Strong Young Minds is currently taking referrals. For more information or to discuss a referral please contact Specialist Social Workers for Mental Health via MHreferrals@epiccic.org.uk.
