4Sight Vision Support is delighted to announce three ‘Wellbeing Walks’ scheduled over the next 12 months. The charity, which provides support and specialist information to blind and sight impaired residents throughout West Sussex, is inviting everyone to sign up for one, two, or even three of these fun, fresh air and friendly fundraising walks held in some delightful locations around the county.
The first of the three walks will be held on the beautiful Angmering Park Estate on 9th July this year. The walk will take participants on an undulating, five-mile trail following tracks, paths and some cross-country areas. The second walk will be routed along Bognor Regis seafront (one of the sunniest places in the UK!) on 1st October, and the final event of the series will visit Horsham Town Centre on 18th March 2023 taking in the cobbled paths and park of this historic town.
In June of last year, the walk at Angmering marked the return of the first of 4Sight Vision Support’s public fundraising events since the start of the pandemic. This was the first time the charity’s annual fundraising walks had a wellbeing theme.
The last two years have shown how important it is to look after our wellbeing, with studies showing that building five actions into our day-to-day lives can help improve our wellbeing: connecting with others, being active, taking notice of our surroundings, learning and giving.
The walks are suitable for people living with sight loss, who may wish to walk independently or may sign up with a family member or friend to guide them. Trained sighted guides are also available and can be requested at the time of booking.
CEO Kirstie Thomas said:
“We are delighted to announce not one but three of our Wellbeing Walks and invite everyone to sign up and join us on the day. For anyone joining all three walks and raising over £500, we are offering a special thank you gift from all of us at 4Sight Vision Support.”
Entry for each event costs £10 for adults and £5 for children aged over 3 (under 3s are free). The entry fee includes refreshments, a bespoke wooden medal and wellbeing activities along the route. There is a special event T-shirt also available for £10. The entrance fee covers the costs of putting on the event, so in addition participants are encouraged to pledge £50 in sponsorship to support the vital work of 4Sight Vision Support.
