Cardiff hospice opens Forever Flowers installation to celebrate life

Thousands of expertly crafted sunflowers are on display at Cardiff Castle for an important cause.

Forever Flowers, an award-winning ‘in memory’ campaign organised by City Hospice, returned to the castle on 30 July. Each sunflower represents the life of a cherished loved one in a special way; allowing people to come together, remember much-loved family members, friends, colleagues and loved ones, and celebrate life.

The display, designed by local artist Katherine Jones, is free to visit and runs until Sunday 14 August.

Liz Booyse, Chief Executive of City Hospice, said:

“We are delighted to be back at such an iconic location in Cardiff for our Forever Flowers display. The sunflowers look beautiful, and we really encourage people to make a visit to the free display during their summer holidays to see for themselves.

“Forever Flowers is an opportunity for people to unite in remembrance and we have introduced our Celebration of Life event this year to invite the community to reflect, remember and celebrate their loved ones.”

Forever Flowers supports the work of City Hospice, the only provider of home-based specialist palliative care.

As Cardiff’s local hospice, the charity provides care and compassion to patients with terminal or life limiting illnesses, as well as counselling and support services for their families.
