This week, charity The Music Man Project & Royal Marines Band Service unveiled their Christmas charity single Music is Magic.
The Music Man Project is an award-winning music education and performance charity for people with learning disabilities. The single was rehearsed at naval base HMS Collingwood and mastered at the University of Surrey. The project marks the first collaborative project between the two groups, with all proceeds from the single going to help The Music Man Project support learning-disabled people across the UK.
The single is dedicated to The Music Man Project’s late patron, Sir David Amess MP, who was the President of The Music Man Project prior to his death in October 2021. He secured opportunities for The Music Man Project to perform at venues including the London Palladium and the Royal Albert Hall.
David Stanley, Founder of The Music Man Project, commented:
“The title of our Christmas single says it all. Music is magic. The single celebrates the power of music to bring people together and transform lives, no matter their background, A uniting force has rarely been so in need, as it is today. I hope our song can inspire people to put their differences aside this holiday season. Whilst our aim is to get the single to Christmas number one, showing the world that magic can happen when we work together is more important. Creating unity is the main aim of our collaboration with The Royal Marines Band Service.”
Music is Magic is available for pre-order in November. It will be released on 16th December 2022 to download and stream on all major digital music stores and streaming services.
