Finance duo raise £11,000 for charity after climbing Yorkshire Three Peaks

Mortgage consultants Pam and Gordon have raised more than £11,000 for the charity Crohn’s & Colitis UK after completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.

The financial duo walked 24-miles in just 24 hours, and climbed as high as 736 metres, all in aid of the thousands of people affected by inflammatory bowel diseases in the UK.

Pam Brown, Managing Partner at Pam Brown Mortgages, is an active voice for Crohn’s and Colitis within the mortgage industry. She started to campaign to raise further awareness about the condition following the diagnosis of her son, Joe, aged 13.

Last year Pam helped raise an incredible £22,000 for the charity and were invited to the House of Lords in recognition of their efforts. This year, Pam was joined on the hike by Joe and her daughter, Nina – both of whom work closely alongside their mother as advisers within her mortgage business.

Pam said: “Every single day, someone messages me about Crohn’s disease, and we undertook this hike to help people realise how devastating and debilitating this disease is and how it affects your entire life.

“Knowing that we have paid someone’s wage to pick up the Crohn’s & Colitis UK helpline, to help research and find a cure, and to give advice to people who need support, makes it all worth it.”

Pam was joined by Gordon Henderson, Recruitment Director at the Mortgage Advice Bureau.

Gordon commented: “We were honoured to participate in the Three Peaks Challenge alongside some fantastic professionals across the mortgage industry.”

The pair are encouraging people to continue to donate in recognition of their fundraising efforts. You can do so by visiting Pam’s Just Giving Page.
