Big Give raises money for charities supporting women and girls

Big Give, the UK’s most successful charity match funding platform, concluded its Women & Girls campaign last month successfully raising £1.2 million.

The campaign received over 5,000 donations, allowing Big Give to generously support charities that are committed to serving women and girls across the UK.

Charities that took part in this year’s campaign included Wellbeing of Women, Home-Start, Women’s Aid, SmartWorks, The Girl’s Network, Endometriosis UK, Women for Refugee Women, and the Malala Fund UK.

The campaign saw the public’s generosity multiplied as donations to the participating charities were matched by the Big Give’s funding ‘champions,’ effectively doubling the impact of each donation.

Alex Day, Managing Director of Big Give, said:

“We are pleased to announce that our second annual Women & Girls campaign has successfully raised £1.2m for over 130 charities. Women and Girls charities are often overlooked and underfunded despite providing the vital support and resources for women and girls facing issues such as domestic abuse, gender inequality in the workplace and period poverty. Thanks to our generous donors and champions, we are making a significant impact on the lives of those affected by these adversities.”
