6,000 Children have a Wild Day Out at West Midland Safari Park

6,000 children got the chance to visit West Midland Safari Park over two weekends thanks to the Children’s Charity Variety Great Days Out programme.

The trip includes a safari drive-through where the children can see a fantastic range of animals from lions, tigers and rhinos, to elephants and giraffes. There is also an adventure theme park and plenty of opportunities to interact with the animals, with daily talks and shows.

One father, Neil Dean, said:

‘Our day at the safari park was nothing short of magical. From the moment we entered the park to the awe-inspiring encounters with magnificent animals, every moment was filled with wonder and joy.’

West Midland Safari Park has provided Variety Club with free admission tickets for over 15 years.  The annual outing gives children and their families and carers the opportunity to make memories in an accessible environment without the financial strain.

This year’s Great Day Out was organised by Variety Midlands member, Lillian Bishop who said:

‘Thank you so much to West Midland Safari Park for helping to create special memories for thousands of children in the Midlands each and every year. It’s wonderful to see so many smiling faces from children and adults alike.’

Variety, the Children’s Charity provides tangible and immediate help to disabled and disadvantaged children and young people throughout the UK. They supply grants for wheelchairs, specialist equipment, experiences on Variety Great Days Out, and fully accessible transport for SEND schools and non-profit organisations with their famous Sunshine Coaches.
