New programme inspires young Highland changemakers

The Highland Council is funding a new programme, ‘My Future, My Success’, for young people who are part of a youth club in the Scottish Highlands. This programme allows young people to attend at a Dragon’s Den style-event where they can pitch for funding to set up their own sustainable social enterprise.

This Social Enterprise Academy programme will help young people develop essential skills in areas such as employability, global citizenship and leadership. The programme will be delivered by the Social Enterprise Academy, which provides transformational learning and development programmes for people and organisations working for social change.

Delivered by an SEA Facilitator who is a social change leader themselves, participants of all ages will experience an inclusive and participatory style of learning where they can develop skills for life, build confidence, learn how to make lasting impact and visit inspiring social businesses.

“My Future, My Success” aims to create sustainable third-sector youth support within communities, enabling them to build a positive future for young people in Scotland.

Jen Lindsay, Project Manager at the Social Enterprise Academy said:
“I’m delighted to be a part of this amazing project. I can’t wait to see what ideas the young people from the Youth Hubs or Clubs across the Highlands come up with to bring positive change to their local communities through social enterprise.”
