Over £20k raised for emergency fund to support city farm animals

A City Farm has launched an emergency fundraising appeal and raised over £21,000 to support its upkeep during Covid-19.

Deen City Farm is an urban farm with an educational focus in the heart of the London Borough of Merton, South West London.

As a result of Covid-19, Deen City Farm has closed to visitors during what is usually the busiest time of year as people flock to see the new born lambs. However, the 40 animals which live on the farm still need to be fed and looked after while the farm remains closed so they can be there for many more children to enjoy in the future.

Nick Golson, Manager of Deen City Farm, said;

We have been overwhelmed by the amazing response to our fundraising appeal. Thank you to everyone who has donated so we can go on looking after the animals. It has made us even more determined to make sure we can get through this difficult time and welcome everyone back to the farm as soon as we can.

The farm is free to visit giving everyone the chance to see animals, play in the playground and learn about nature. It is funded entirely by visitor donations and income from its cafe and shop.
