A medical student has undertaken a daring challenge in order to fundraise for charity.
Oliwia Bolimowska is currently working on her PHD at The University of Birmingham, and works at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
Working on the front line, Oliwia has seen how lonely and isolating a stay in hospital can be for patients and the negative effect this has on their well-being and mental health. Since working at the hospital Oliwia has also witnessed first-hand the difference UHB Charity makes to staff and patients and says this really helps make what can be a very difficult and challenging time feel more positive for patients.
University Hospitals Birmingham Charity funds equipment, research and training beyond the scope of the NHS and aims to make a difference to the lives of patients, visitors and staff at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB).
Oliwia wanted to give something back and fundraise for UHB Charity so, as a bit of an adrenalin junkie, she decided on a wing walk. She had an incredible experience, and before even landing she was planning her next flight. Oliwia has felt overwhelmed with all the support and is so grateful to everyone who has donated.
